Partners in Prayer: Tenwek School of Nursing
Since July 1987, Tenwek School of Nursing in Bomet, Kenya, has trained nurses to “Care in Christ’s Name.” Many people have worked together to have a part in the student nurses’ training—both in the classroom and in the clinical areas—to help them learn, gain confidence, and reach out to those in need. However, did you know that some of the most important people who help train these students and help them succeed have never been to Kenya? How is that possible? Through the vital ministry of prayer.

Yes, through prayer, we have seen students pass exams. They still have to study hard, but you should see their faces light up when we tell them that many people are praying for them.
God has blessed our nursing school over the years with a high pass rate on the national exams. We don’t take this for granted, and we believe it’s because of the effective prayers of many people all around the world.

Passing exams is important, but best of all is seeing our students reach out and touch lives physically, emotionally, and spiritually as they care in Christ’s name. Thanks for being part of the team that stands with us as we train nurses.

We need your continued prayers that we will continue to train and graduate nurses who maintain high standards of excellence in their profession as well as in reflecting Jesus.

We are counting on your faithful prayers. They really do reach us and accomplish their work—even when electricity, or internet, or phones do not reach us. Effective prayer is hard work, so thank you for working and standing with us as we join God in what He is doing in Kenya. “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16 NIV)
