Summer Outreach

You are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27

Welcome to summer! I hope you are enjoying the lazy days this time of year offers us. Often we find a little more time on our hands and it’s a beautiful opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in our communities and around the world.

As The Call team looked at putting the July/August issue together we wanted to share with you some stories of those serving in ways you may not think of in the traditional missions sense, like Beth Ryanwho is using hairdressing in Honduras to share Christ with her community. And for those of you trying to figure out where to begin, we have a helpful guide on how to get started by discovering your spiritual gifts, missions-style. And for those of you who think that they are past their prime for service President Harriman reminds us that Abraham wasn’t called into missions until the age when most of us would be retired.

For the world to touch Christ’s hands and feet, they must encounter Christ through us. This summer you have the opportunity to be Christ in your community, serving in ways you enjoy and haven’t thought about before. Let’s take a new look at our communities and ask God how He can best use us this summer.

Rethinking outreach with you,
Kristi Crisp
