Who doesn’t like a good mystery?

I know I do. In the edition of The Call (due to your mailbox this week) we take a look at some mysteries in missions that will need our entire detective squad to help solve.

Are you familiar with World Gospel Mission’s Unsolved Mysteries in Missions blog? We have been posting missions mysteries there for quite some time, leaving clues about ways to win the world for Christ. In this issue we asked a diverse group of missions-active individuals to share their opinions and strategies on these unsolved mysteries.

Our super sleuths may not have all the answers, but their diverse backgrounds help us formulate a better solution for these mysteries in missions.

The Call Goes Green!

Go green!

What’s not going green these days? Planet Toys just unveiled a new line of stuffed animals—stuffed with recycled soda bottles. As we say here in the WGM newsroom, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

In the March/April issue we explore ways to “go green” in order to expand our missions footprint. Once your magazine arrives, you’ll quickly notice that our definition of “going green” goes well beyond recycling bins. Our articles and podcasts tackle different shades of green and their meanings. So, green can mean plant, go, to have a green thumb, envy, lack of experience, etc. And how do all those things relate to missions?

You’ll have to read (or listen) to find out.

Why do bad things happen?

Hello Readers!

Many of you were inspired by the November/December issue of The Call and are giving gifts of missions this year. Wouldn't it be cool if the needs to several projects were met because you honored somebody on your Christmas list. It gives me the chills just thinking about it. Together we can do it!

I am writing today because the January/February issue will be mailing this week. Hooray! This issue is challenging and inspiring. This issue asks the question, "Why do bad things happen?". Why are children dying of hunger in Africa, why was Haiti devastated with hurricane damage this year, and why don't children have coats in Kazakhstan - I don't know, but I do know that God is bigger than all of those things. The writers share their stories of life struggle and defeat, but through each circumstance God is in control.

You will soon be bombarded with ways to set goals for the coming year, ways to simplify your life, and ways to lessen your environmental footprint but take a moment to laugh, cry, and be reminded that God is in control, even in the bad times.

Wherever you are on the road of life be blessed!
