Kazakhstan: Alcoholism

Among many problems in today's Kazakh society, the problem of alcoholism is one of the top-ranking issues. Alcoholism damages and separates families. The Apple Tree House serves as a safe haven for underprivileged and abused children who are often living out the effects of alcoholism in their homes. As the children experience a few hours in a loving, healthy environment, may they establish the next generation of alcohol-free families.

ACT: The Apple Tree House ministry shares several needs in The Great Co-Mission Catalog. Find out ways to partner with this ministry at www.wgm.org/catalog or request a copy at wgm@wgm.org.

KAZAKHSTAN, ASIA

Today we were able to join our hearts together and pray for the ministries in Kazakhstan.

In Kazakhstan you cannot freely share your faith. That's a luxury I have living in the United States. Because I can freely share my concern for the people of Kazakhstan I have been able to impact the ministries there from right where I live. In fact, I have partnered with Kazakhstan to help the Apple Tree ministry. My coworkers and I raised money to provide winter clothes and coats for children at the Apple Tree House.

You can do that too. Want to know how? My office took on this project through the Great Co-Mission catalog. We asked our friends, family, and church to support this need and were able to raise enough to provide warm clothes and coats to over a dozen kids. It wasn't hard and there are several projects like this in the catalog. You can view the catalog at www.wgm.org/catalog. Build your team and make an impact for missions in your neighborhood. There are kids on the other side of the world who will thank you.

Blessings,

9/29 - Kazakhstan

How Big is Your God?

The country of Kazakhstan does not allow the Gospel to be shared freely. That seems a little strange to most of us living in the US where there are churches on every other street corner. Even in small towns you can find a variety of denominations and worship styles. But if Kazakhstan does not allow for the Gospel to be shared how will the people hear?

We serve a God bigger than laws, people, or barriers. Will you pray that laws will be changed and that people of all ages can hear of the life changing power of Jesus?

This is the half way mark on the Concert of Prayer challenge. Can you believe it? It has been an interesting challenge for me. I wanted to see if someone could really stop for 30 days and pray and so far so good. It is a discipline that's for sure and those of you who have made the journey with me know what I mean.

Let's finish strong! Tomorrow we will lift Honduras up in prayer.

See you at the Concert!
